What is the difference between a Packing List and a Commercial Invoice?
A Commercial Invoice is a financial transaction document stating who bought what, item pricing, and payment terms. A Packing List is a physical logistics document specifying exact package dimensions, carton numbers, gross/net weights, and packaging types for warehouse handlers and customs inspectors.
Why do Gross Weight (G.W.) and Net Weight (N.W.) matter?
Net Weight represents the bare weight of the product itself. Gross Weight includes the product, inner retail box, master carton, protective foam, and pallets. Freight carriers and airlines bill chargeable weight based strictly on Gross Weight or volumetric displacement.
